Do you see untidy litter spoiling the town and countryside where you live? You could do something about it by joining a litter picking group and transforming theses places into pleasant places for people and wildlife. Beachwatch 20102. Help clean up your local beach – Beachwatch Big Weekend: 18 - 19 September
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) are running the Beachwatch Big Weekend. The tide of litter washing up on our shores can kill some of our best-loved marine wildlife. Over 170 species including turtles, whales and seabirds are known to have mistaken marine litter for food resulting in starvation, poisoning and fatal stomach blockages. You can help turn the tide by registering online to take part or call the MCS litter team on 01989 567807.

3. Report a litter or fly-tipping problem to your local council
You can use our easy to use online letter writing tool to find and email your local council and let them know about your problem and action you want them to take.

CPRE East Hampshire fly-tipping initiative
CPRE Hampshire has established a new pilot scheme with the National Farmers Union, the Country Land and Business Association, East Hampshire District Council and the Environment Agency to find out the levels of fly-tipping on private land and establish new ways of dealing with it. 4. Make your school litter free
