Work with your local CPRE group to assess the character of your local landscape
Campaign to protect and enhance landscape character where you live with your local CPRE branch or district. There are many ways in which you can get involved. CPRE will be creating partnerships with local interest groups to develop a Community Landscape Character Statement. You may wish to be part of this team. You may have other skills or resources that are needed such as access to a hall or meeting room or a press officer who would be willing to share their skills. Alternatively you may be able to publicise the project to a wide audience, offer refreshments for the meetings or events or even sponsor the statement to help cover the project costs.

Then comes the important work when the community gets together for a day to assess their local landscape character. You could take part in the event, which usually involves taking a walk during the morning and filling in easy-to-use survey sheets. In the afternoon, activities are organised that help record your thoughts, ideas and aspirations for your local landscape.

Contact us, email: campaigns@cpre.org.uk, if you are interested in getting involved.
